Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Test and Design Engineering Manager to lead our local engineering team within a dynamic, high-mix, medium-volume Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) environment. This senior role is responsible for overseeing test development and setup, driving design-for-manufacturability (DFM) initiatives, and providing hands-on technical leadership across general engineering projects. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both Mandarin and English, and possess a strong background in test engineering, electronic design, and leading cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and mentor the local engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Hands on development, implementation, and optimization of test systems and processes for a diverse range of electronic products.
• Drive DFM activities, collaborating with project, production, and quality teams to ensure robust and cost-effective product realization.
• Develop and maintain test software and hardware, with a strong emphasis on LabVIEW, Python, and database architecture.
• Oversee schematic and PCB design reviews using Altium Designer, ensuring manufacturability and testability.
• Interface with customers and internal stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and transfer-to-production activities, ensuring seamless scaling from prototype to volume manufacturing.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and customer requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for complex engineering challenges.
• Prepare and present technical reports, project updates, and recommendations to senior management.
• Strive for continuous improvement of test environment.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• Extensive experience (8+ years) in test engineering, electronic design, and/or EMS environments.
• Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams and complex projects.
• Proficiency in LabVIEW, Altium Designer, Python, and database architecture.
• Strong understanding of DFM, test strategy development, and production support.
• Excellent communication skills in both Mandarin and English (oral and written).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
• Infrequent travel may be required.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with automated test systems, data analysis, and process optimization.
• Familiarity with industry quality standards (e.g., ISO, IPC).
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
