YOUR ROLE
As a Robotics Engineer, you will play a vital role within the August Robotics Shenzhen technical team, contributing across multiple domains—including sensors, power systems, control software, and algorithms—from concept through to execution.
You will be part of the system integration team, tasked with gaining deep insight into real-world robot applications and delivering high-performance, reliable, and professional robotic solutions to clients.
In your day-to-day responsibilities, you will collaborate closely with team members to ensure robots execute their intended functions with consistent stability. Drawing on your accumulated robotics expertise, you will identify, test, and resolve technical challenges that emerge during development and testing stages.
You will face novel and complex challenges as we continue enabling robots to perform tasks traditionally carried out by people. The role requires continuous learning, critical thinking, hypothesis formulation, and proactive validation through experimentation.
You will contribute to a thorough and structured testing framework and support its ongoing enforcement. This framework spans the entire project lifecycle of each robot, ensuring all issues relevant to commercial deployment are detected and addressed—guaranteeing dependable and resilient performance across all customer environments and operating conditions.
YOUR SKILLS
You must have:
– A bachelor’s degree or higher in Robotics Engineering, Automation, Control, Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
– Strong programming abilities in C/C++ or Python, including experience with associated tools and libraries.
– Background in embedded systems or robotic product development.
– Working knowledge of ROS, with recent practical experience developing or using products within the ROS ecosystem.
– Solid grasp of robotics engineering fundamentals, supported by relevant work or project experience.
– Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
Preferred qualifications (not required but advantageous):
– Knowledge of control engineering, signals and systems, and hands-on experience such as tuning PID controllers.
– Familiarity with motion control, and experience in motor or sensor-based product development.
– Experience in robot navigation and obstacle avoidance implementation.
– Exposure to optimization algorithms and path planning techniques.
– Proficiency in Linux platforms and experience with software development in Linux environments.
– Understanding of operating system principles and experience in system-level software development.
A minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a Robotics Engineer is required, including participation in robotic product projects (note: these projects should have been or are intended to be commercially launched, not purely experimental).
